Microsoft and Sony are busy making as many consoles as possible all year round. There is hardly any capacity left for further innovations, apart from the firstinternal hardware revisions. We expect a Playstation VR 2 to be available sooner in 2022 or even later.
Only one thing seems clear: For the first few weeks and months, it will probably remain difficult to get a new Xbox Series X / S or the Playstation 5.
Nintendo is likely to present a more powerful switch – rumors have been around for a long time with no details though. The new version of the hybrid console may appear together with the successor to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Little is known about the game developer’s plans either. The biggest secret is and remains GTA 6 release date, about which there are only unconfirmed rumors. Just a reminder: The fifth series part came on the market in September 2013. After all, there should be a specially adapted version for the Xbox Series X / S and the Playstation 5 in 2021 – we would prefer a new series part.
There are other top blockbusters that we know little about like Elden Ring, the action game from From Software, co-produced with George RR Martin (Game of Thrones). Or the real-time strategy game Age of Empires 4, with Halo Infinite, with Diablo 4 from Blizzard and with a new Dragon Age, Mass Effect and Assassin’s Creed? And what about Hogwarts Legacy (Hogwarts Legacy release date), the supposedly adult Harry Potter role-playing game from Avalanche Software, as well as Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 from Bethesda? at the moment we cannot even be sure that any of them will even hit the market.

What is relatively clear: The first major game in 2021 will be released on January 20th and it’s Hitman 3. With the super spy it goes on almost all current platforms in missions in a high-rise in Dubai and on a secret mission in a gloomy English moorland. The title from IO Interactive is supposed to score with many simulated NPCs and well thought-out missions.

Two games from Ubisoft have also been announced for the following months: Riders Republic, which is located in an open world and very focused on cycling, will be released on February 25, 2021. And on March 18, the manufacturer wants to release the remake of Prince of Persia – The Sands of Time.

There are no other specific dates for major titles – this has to do probably with the planning uncertainty due to the corona crisis. Ubisoft, for example, has postponed the launch of Far Cry 6 (planned for February 18) indefinitely.
